More Details

You will receive your staging location and line-up number at the time of check-in. Staging areas run up Pacific and along Church, Cooper, and Locust. You may also find your staging area by looking here, but you still must send one person to complete check-in.

We request that one contingent member check in at the Parade check in to determine your contingent’s staging location. The remainder of your contingent please have a previously agreed upon meeting spot downtown (or if you know your staging area meet there.) The point person can rejoin the group and lead you all to the staging area.

Sign that says "I Love My Trans Child"
  • 10:30 - All members of each contingent must be fully assembled at their staging area for ‘places.’
  • 11:00am, Dykes on Bikes will step off (rev up and vroom off), beginning the Santa Cruz Pride Parade.
  • The Parade will proceed down Pacific and turn right on Cathcart (towards Cedar).
  • The Parade disassembles on Cedar.
  • VEHICLES may stop momentarily, in a parking spot on Cathcart, to unload passengers, then continue, turning left or right onto Cedar and rejoining regular traffic.
  • All WALKERS and WALKING CONTINGENTS are encouraged to turn right into the parking lot and, thus, into the Festival Zone (the Festival Zone will be located in the parking lot behind Toadal Fitness where the Wednesday night Farmer’s Market takes place). Stay and enjoy the festivities!  Please clear the street as quickly as contingents will continue to come in for the nearly 1.5 hours.

Please remember to wear comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and your very best Pride Costumes and Regalia (Thrilling Pageantry)!!  We also suggest bringing a bottle of water.

For more information, or if you have a question, email our Parade Coordinator.

Things to Remember

The parade gathers at Pacific & Cooper on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 10:00am for contingents with motor vehicles and at 10:00am for walking contingents and steps off at 11:00am. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

PARADE ROUTE: South on Pacific from Church to Cathcart, turning right on Cathcart to lead into the Pride Festival and disassemble onto Cedar. For parking info, please visit the City of Santa Cruz Parking info page at http://www.cityofsantacruz.com/modules/ShowDocument.aspx?documentid=14100

REMINDER - Parade contingents are not allowed to throw or pass out items during the parade (such as fliers, candy, beads, confetti, etc). We need to leave the streets as clean as possible to avoid Pride having to pay for clean up.

Santa Cruz Pride strives to promote our visibility and increase our feelings of self-esteem while providing a common ground for exchanging information, building community and having fun. This day celebrates our positive contributions, our diverse sexualities, our cultures, our families, our accomplishments, our individuality and our ongoing struggle for civil rights and liberation.
