Santa Cruz -- Come celebrate Santa Cruz Pride on June 7th, 2015!

This is a transition year for Pride as it re-establishes itself as a self-sustaining entity that is financially and organizationally independent from the Diversity Center of Santa Cruz County after operating as a direct project of that organization for much of the last decade.

In support of that goal, Pride is making a focused effort to leverage both social media and traditional channels to reach out to a new base of grassroots donors - LGBTQ community members and allies who identify, connect with, and embrace the spirit of Pride as celebration and affirmation of LGBTQ identity. In particular, Pride is surfing the wave of the crowdfunding phenomenon by launching its own GoFundMe campaign at:

Already 40% of the way towards the goal of raising $5,000, Pride hopes to close the gap with a sustained publicity push throughout May as it counts down the last three weeks to the annual march and festival. Donations go towards creating a safe space for Santa Cruz’s LGBTQ community to gather, celebrate, shout, chant, march, exist, break bread, and enjoy one another's company in a public space.

About Santa Cruz Pride:

Every first Sunday in June, the Santa Cruz County community joins with the voices of LGBTQ communities and their allies around the world in celebration of Pride Month. The Santa Cruz
Pride Parade & Festival, one of the oldest continuously operating Pride celebrations in the world, has been made possible for 40+ years because of the ongoing support and contributions of time, talent, and treasure by the residents of Santa Cruz County.
