Santa Cruz Pride & Kuumbwa Jazz present: A Queer Evening in May
A Night of Vocal and Instrumental Music to Celebrate 50 Years of Pride Across Santa Cruz County
In the mid-1980s, a group of gay and lesbian people started producing “A Gay Evening in May” or AGEM which was a variety show of musical presentation and skits performed in the downtown Civic Auditorium each year in May. The show ran for over 15 years. In this spirit, we are celebrating “A Queer Evening in May” - AQEM - on Thursday, May 29 - a partnership between Kuumbwa Jazz and Santa Cruz Pride.
